Members Area is being merged into the Public area of the web site
At long last the members area of the club website is being integrated with the public area so that they are all in one website.
While the transition is under way there will be a few links in the public area that do not work, including the link to the new members area.
If you keep any bookmarks to the old members area (at http://test.malden-dsme.co.uk) please note that these are no longer valid; that area is now reserved for its original purpose for testing new software. You cannot log on to the old members area any more.
For the time being, if the main area of the public website does not link you correctly to the members area, please manually enter the following link. http://malden-dsme.co.uk/members/
Additibnal information
You will have seen the recent email about the movement of the members area into the public website.
This provides you, as a registered tester, some notes about the use of the revised version of the test website
- you may need to clear your browser recent files history - if you use more than one browser you have to do this for each one
- the new facility can be accessed at http://malden-dsme.co.uk/members .
- visiting the test site will require that you log on again - this time with a new password that is your original one prefixed by the letters test. If you fail to prefix the password this way, you will get a log on reject message - however you can still logon as guest
- emailing is switched off (the feign option in the email configuration parameters makes it appear that emails work to the user but nothing turns up on anyone's inbox)
- the live database can be snapshotted at any time (ask me to do this) and we can restore the test database to that snapshot any number of times, when that is done all overdue scheduled jobs will be run again
- you can try out anything you want to - but do bear in mind that nothing you do here will be saved in the longer term - let me know if you would like refresh to the database to be vetoed for some period while you carry out any lengthy investigations
- to try and make sure you don't accidentally work on the test database as if it were the real one, the word test appears as a watermark
- the test website may be at a later development stage than the public one - so please make sure that you tell me which one you were using if there is a problem
