One of the society's original strengths in the early years was it boating section, with numerous rallies being held on lakes in the Wimbledon area.

Any information on these pictures would be most welcome.

Another picture again on the lakes at Wimbledon, unfortunately very little is known about the people or models.

1943 loco mustang 1943 Freelance 2-8-2_'Mustang' designed and built by Mr R.C Marshall this was his large heavy duty engine in 3½" gauge.
1943 loco beveley 1943 Freelance 4-4-2 'Beverley' designed and built by Mr R.C Marshall. This locomotive was named after Beverley Park where the club was first located in New Malden.

Current thinking that this locomotive was based on LBSC's 3½" gauge Atlantic, however this loco was built with Walcherts valve gear instead of Stephenson's valve gear.
1944 loco freelance 1944 Freelance 2-6-0 "MDLR 1944" designed and built by Mr L.S. Pinder in 3½" gauge.
